Anyone got any ideas for christening present for six month old baby girl I'm the godmother, would like something she can keep and remember me by. I still have christening mug from mine totally useless but sentimental value. Would like something a bit more useful

For godsons (now mostly grown up) I've bought a good pair of cufflinks + a suitable child type thing (rattle / toy / clothes). The cufflinks are looked after by parents until lad hits about 16. How about earrings / necklace / bracelet bought as christening present but targeted at a 16 year old girl?

On 18th birhthday I've then given tankard + ?50 note to fill it up a few times - not sure what a girlie equivalent might be?

An engraved money clip is the perfect christening present for a boy or a girl. Silver, with a suitably inspiring message on it and whatever is the highest denomination of folding money you can afford enfolded in it.

She won't be aware of it now but when she does, rest assured, than you, none will be cooler.

I bought my god-daughter a limited edition print in a nice frame (a black and white pencil drawing of Winnie The Pooh!) when she was christened.. it's hung in her bedroom ever since and I know she still loves it....

I also think a classic jewelry box is a nice gift for a girl.....

May have to change my name to Ms PC, but you could plant a specially chosen tree for her so they can grow together. Or sponsor the education of a girl the same age in a developing country in her name.

A case or bottle of really good port/dessert wine/scotch/champagne that will be at its peak for her 18th or 21st birthday. Then she can toast you!
