Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am part of the PCF team. PCF began in 2002 by Jane Walker and established two successful charities, one in the UK to raise funds for the second charity which started in the Philippines. PCF has helped 2 million individuals in 20 years, benefiting 10.5 million of their family members. Purple Charity Fund Website which you can donate or read more into what we do for the people in the Philippines. Furthermore, I am adding onto this topic on here some of the products we sell that the people of the charity make in the Philippines and we give back all the money the people who make the products and their children.

This is one of the products the women of the charity have made (handmade) and its called the Novie Bag which is 8 inches in height and 10 inches wide. All Novie Bags have upcycled ties and handkerchief so all bags are unique inside plus has a zip pocket inside with the Purple Community Fund log inside. • The Oxfam shop refusal may be because they have very limited storage space at the back of their very small shop?
    • I agree. The staff are always lovely!
    • Hi, does anyone know anything about the generator that seems to run from 7am every day in the car park of Dominic Court off The Gardens? I live in a property that backs on to that car park and it’s incredibly noisy and fumey. It’s been there for a long time now and it looks like it’s powering a site office for construction workers. Does anyone have any information about how long it will be there for, and who is operating it? I worry about the quality of the air as it’s like having a truck running constantly. And it’s very annoying to have it rumbling all day.
    • Most charity shops will take rags for textile recycling. I’ve also donated to Christopher’s, Shelter on LL and Scope in Camberwell. The only one I’ve known to refuse is the Oxfam in Herne Hill.
