There was one in our neighbours garden recently while they were on holiday - I rang the council on Saturday evening and was told they would come on Monday and it would cost (as on private property). They turned up on Sunday morning and didn't charge :)

Of course the other option is to move it out to the street, and it will be picked up by the council.

liliol you have all my sympathy . We've had this happen to us as well and it's distressing and very difficult to get help.

I can't help thinking it would be helpful if Southwark were to publish guidelines as to what to do in this situation .

Or if they do perhaps we could be directed to them .

Removal of dead animals from private property

If you need to have a dead animal removed from exterior private trade premises, and your own private garden, we can arrange this. Please note there is a charge of ?47.00 (inc VAT) for this service. Please have the fee ready to give to our staff when they collect the dead animal from your property. Payment can be made by cash or by cheque made payable to London Borough of Southwark. A receipt will be issued to you as soon as payment is made.
