Pickle
There was one in our neighbours garden recently while they were on holiday - I rang the council on Saturday evening and was told they would come on Monday and it would cost (as on private property). They turned up on Sunday morning and didn't charge :)Of course the other option is to move it out to the street, and it will be picked up by the council. lilolil
My son has tried to pick it up but couldn't stomach it as there are maggots now. I rang the council and was told to ring back in the morning Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33081-help-dead-fox-in-my-garden/#findComment-652524 Share on other sites
Earl Aelfheah
Get a spade under it and with a quick lift and whip motion, you should be able to clear the neighbours fence. fl0wer
Burying it ASAP would be the best option environmentally. Burial pit needs to be at least 4ft deep. The fox's body, although disgusting on the surface, will provide food for many invertebrates and these in turn add to healthy topsoil. lilolil
I'll let the council deal with it. Thanks! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33081-help-dead-fox-in-my-garden/#findComment-652550 Share on other sites
HonaloochieB
I don't know if this helps, but I like it. I imagine it might be what the fox's spouse is playing on his gramophone. intexasatthe moment
liliol you have all my sympathy . We've had this happen to us as well and it's distressing and very difficult to get help.I can't help thinking it would be helpful if Southwark were to publish guidelines as to what to do in this situation .Or if they do perhaps we could be directed to them . lilolil
The fox has now been collected. Something had 'played' with it during the night despite the fact it was covered. Not a pretty sight. shellindulwich
lilolil -- sorry to hear about the fox! Any idea what had 'played with it'? am beginning to get a bit concerned as there seems to be a few animals turning up recently horribly mangled....saw onhttp://southlondonparanoia.forumotion.co.uk/f1-south-east-london-related Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33081-help-dead-fox-in-my-garden/#findComment-652779 Share on other sites
