If you wait in your car outside Sainsbury local at Dulwich library she will probably bump into you.

She reversed into me (gently) when I was parked there last summer. :)

i hoped that people would send me a private messages if they had any info, perhaps i should of said that in the original post. as far as i'm concerened it would be way too rude to just knock on someones door. i would post a letter...

This is a free event for isolated people in East Dulwich and the surrounding areas. Myself and Nick are organising this event as we have both been through times of isolation and loneliness in our lives and we feel very passionate about helping other people who are living with the same issues. We have realised from sharing our experiences that there are many people out there who feel just like us. The elderly, single people, mothers and fathers looking after young children whilst their partners are out at work all day and many, many others. You may need help filling in forms, you may need advice about certain things or you just might want to see a friendly face now and again or have someone to talk to and share with.

The way it is right now, there are suicides, mental breakdowns and crime, as isolated people feel excluded from society. If nothing is done then this will continue. There are not many support groups out there so we are hoping that this event will bring people together to find new friends and to know that they are not alone and we may be able to save a marriage or even a life but we know we will definitely be having some fun.

The event is in the function room at the back of The Herne where there is a lovely garden so weather permitting we can sit outside. It will only be a success if you come along and bring your friends too. If you or anyone you know are in some way touched by the nature of our event or you or any of your friends are faced with isolation or loneliness then we need you to be there.

Vintage Pretty's of East Dulwich have very kindly donated tea, coffee and biscuits for us. We are also running a free raffle for everyone who comes. We are hoping that a couple of local celebrities will be there to mingle with us and we also hope to have a local newspaper person there to report the success of our event. Hope to see you there! Love Frarnie and Nick...

Just to mention that Adrian Lester is so much more than just Hustle - as a Shakespearean actor he's second to none.I still remember his Henry V at the National back in 2002/3 with immense pleasure - it persuaded my then 12 year old son that Shakespeare and the theatre were both worth persevering with. His Othello was perhaps even better - along with Rory Kinnear as Iago he was just magnificent.

    • Avoid companies that are run by non trades people Seems to be the trend lately. Check them on Companies house first. There are some great family companies or sole traders. LMQ Roofing 07860 467708 [email protected] ANR Roofing 08009330439 Fist on my list is Liam McQueen https://www.lmqroofingservices.com/ Honest, reliable, constant updates, proper written quotes professional and lovely polite workers. Great work. Also though we did not use them in the end ANR Roofing based in Wimbledon offered some sound advice and quote.  Also very lovely family run firm. And Crest Roofing based in EC1V 2NX came and gave a quote and seemed very lovely with some advice also. 07934 975769
    • Had a terrible experience with this company recently. Their rooofers were abusive and really not nice. Simple job to remove an aerial which we knew would mostly cost in scaffold turned into a nightmare, They dug up old rotten boards in our front garden (there for beetles) and use under the scaffold. When we questioned the positioning of the scaffold (we needed it down the side and not on top of plants and garden) I received a torrent of offensive teenage sexist shouting. The main guy doing this was called Jimmy. They did eventually remove the aerial (no tools to do so I had to supply) They told us the side of the hip needed new timbers and re-roofing. We'd recently had it inspected and it looked good (I'm a carpenter by trade and went and looked at rafters inside - no issue. They seemed to take offense at my carpentry knowledge also. They pulled ridge tile off then told us it would be 3200 to repair!! Stood on a non load bearing lead canopy and more.  Left cooked food and rubbish in garden, Just avoid them is my advice. One of an ever increasing number of firms owned not by trades people who subcontract and pay the scaffolders pennies. I'll do recommendations in another post!
    • I live locally and am on Lordship Lane and North Cross Road most days. I've never been forced into traffic, or noticed any problem in any of these places! I appreciate that might be different with a buggy or mobility aid. I like to see people enjoying themselves outside.
    • It's good that you've never personally had to experience poison being left but it is a known fact in this area. It's not fly tipping - people leave food out for foxes but there are also people who purposefully leave food out to kill animals.
