solar
Goodrich school has a pond next to Dunstans Road. It may have come from there. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/330000-ed-nature-watch/page/84/#findComment-1286403 Share on other sites
Nigello
Yes, that's possible. How come it was moving away from the pond? Do they go a-wandering often, frogs? Is there a boggy area on the Hill? Sue
Frogs don't live in ponds usually, I think? They go there to mate in the Spring? :)I stand to be corrected. They certainly wander round my garden at night in the Summer. And used to hibernate in the Winter in a tub I had (but I don't have water in the tub any more). Asset
Lots of frogs around my garden. I am now careful raking up the leaves as I have once raked one to death and I still feel bad about it. They like to plot under piles of damp leaves. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/330000-ed-nature-watch/page/84/#findComment-1286525 Share on other sites

Nigello
I have seen pigeion-like birds, perching about 50' up in the plane trees on Goose Green. They are leaner than pigeons and I can't see whether they have a ring around the neck, which would make them a collared dove. They fly at height to the church steeple sometimes. What could they be? (Not parakeets) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/330000-ed-nature-watch/page/84/#findComment-1317321 Share on other sites

AylwardS
If you pass by and have not been to Greendale Fields recently have a look. The Counci have put in paths and benches but there are still wilder areas for birds and wildlife. I?ve walked through to Sainsbury?s a few times and heard a woodpecker (greater S potted I think though I?ve not seen it yet) and heard a greenfinch. Hoping the whitethrots will be back soon Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/330000-ed-nature-watch/page/84/#findComment-1317337 Share on other sites

Penguin68
countdown to August 12th commencesThat's grouse - Pheasant season is 1st October to 1st February. Where this one is, and being now at least a season old, he's actually pretty safe.
