Carilondon
Dog alert - the council is spraying the pavement with poison It took me a long time to find out why my dog was sick after eating grass along the pavement, which is a normal dog behaviour! Not even the vet knew what was wrong till I noticed the council spaying the grass with poison outside my house and this morning they are around once again. This should be illegal! 😡 I’m wondering if one knows how to stop the council from poisoning our streets??? first mate
It would be illegal for the council to spray with anything that caused injury to pets. Ask what the weed killer is that is being used and/or raise with your councillor. Carilondon
If you see them around your street please as about the weed killer compound - many weed killers contain glyphosate, which is harmful to dogs! I also noticed that this person was, whilst in my sight anyway, without any kind of face mask, for example. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/329033-dog-alert-the-council-is-spraying-the-pavement-with-poison/#findComment-1629240 Share on other sites
malumbu
Glycophosphate is commonly used in the UK including gardeners. If you've ever bought round up that is it. The EU wanted to ban it due to over use by farmers, but we don't subscribe to that woke nonsense as they have done in France. Perhaps someone would like to write to Defra through their local MP asking about greater controls over this commonly available weed killer Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/329033-dog-alert-the-council-is-spraying-the-pavement-with-poison/#findComment-1629289 Share on other sites
Alec1
Weedkiller with glycophosphate can also damage car paintwork. Any spray residue on paintwork, after they have sprayed on kerb side, needs to be wiped off. I had to do this a year or so ago when I saw them spraying.
