The Golden Anchor near Nunhead Station is good for holding an event. Has a spacious dedicated room for a dance and DJ. It has a late licence and drink prices are very reasonable. You can book the space and use your own DJ. I am available for DJ bookings depending on the type/ genre's of music you want played. PM me if you need any help or advice. Try giving Christian at Netquest Consulting a call before you give up on it. http://www.netquest-consulting.com/site/services.html I'm not sure if he still does repairs, as I gather he has left his previous premises in Pellatt Road and it isn't mentioned on his website any more, but worth a try? Also, I once spilled a glass of wine over a laptop and gave it to someone because I thought it was dead. It certainly seemed to be. A long time after, I discovered that the laptop had miraculously recovered! This was a bit annoying as it wasn't actually mine, and I had had to replace it (my own fault, obviously).
