I expect it to be full of lippy northeners who love the north but it's too cold there so they make do with living here and then they heve kids who thus ARE southerners and then they grow up being southerners and become embarrassed by their parents accents. What to do? I'm freezing typing this. I better phone my mum and check she's got an extra jumper on.

Dear DM, I believe for best effect, one should say "Oim black, and Oim proud".

It's all in the accent and intonation, I think Roddy would agree.

Cool though, Ireland is a great and beautiful nation. (I guess this explains your sudden feisty outbursts as well.)

And my Godparents were Irish, so I've always felt a certain affinity - particularly with the West Coast, Galway area.
