Harry73
On 20th and 21st July, the incredible Herne Hill Velodrome will be hosting the best young riders in the world, including potential Paris Olympians, in a two day race meeting. With lots of food and drink available, some incredible racing and hundreds of tickets already sold, it will be a lot of fun. Many local residents aren’t even aware of the track, the last remaining 1948 Olympics venue. Last year the track in Burbage Road had over 20k visitors - of all ages so it is worth going along to see what’s happening. If you are watching the Tour de France, you will hear the name of Fred Wright, national champion and Herne Hill rider and resident. He learnt to ride at the track. Not to mention Flora Perkins, Ethan Hayter and Thomas Gloag. To name a few more world famous riders. This event is incredibly special and will be inspirational for so many young kids who go. If you haven’t been before, I recommend it. For more information, visit the Herne Hill Velodrome website.
