... I would love to come and get it!

I am a Bee-keeper in East Dulwich, but sadly my 2 colonies have not made it through the winter so I am bee-less, and quite sad about it!

Now is the time that bees might be swarming so if you see on on your apple tree/garden bench/neighbour's shed please let me know immediately on the mobile and I'll be over in a flash with my smoker and a box to take them away in

And please don't be afraid if you see a swarm - despite the thunderous noise, they are very calm when they swarm as they aren't protecting their home and their tummies are full of honey (for the journey) which makes them very placid!

Many thanks in advance

Ahh. I thought it was only me who had loads of bees flying around in my gutter but then I noticed that they are in my neighbours gutters as well. It seems as though we are being invaded by bees in dulwich this summer. The only worry I have is that I am allergic to bees and so I an keeping all my windows closed.
We've got a bumble bee nest under a few rocks at the back of our house, they do not nest in large numbers and you don't see many at a time, they just lazily come and go, I sit at the garden table with a mug of tea and watch them for a little while land like planes on an aircraft carrier in exactly the same place all the time following the same flight path..before they scurry under the rocks, quite relaxing when I get home form work..who needs 3D TV :)

All you need now is some ants to watch - equally fascinating :)

We watched one struggling to carry a dead fly down a wall the other day.
