Beckerina
The drumming is fantastic, but its really anti social of an evening when trying to relax at home after a long days work and trying to get an early night. Is there any way of letting us residents know when you're going to be rehearsing so we have some warning? The sound really travels across the common. I do love it, but would prefer to hear it during the daytime or weekend :) xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32781-drumming-on-peckham-rye/page/2/#findComment-671968 Share on other sites

ouissellat
Hi Beckerina, sorry it's a bit of a bother. The problem is in the day time we've had complaints from people in the cafe. We used to rehearse in the Rye Hill TRA but they started charging us and we can't afford rent. I'm looking for some alternative spacesIf anyone has some suggestions please let me know, thanks.Adamfacebook.com/southlondonsamba[email protected] Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32781-drumming-on-peckham-rye/page/2/#findComment-674747 Share on other sites

rjsmall
I was out on the Rye last evening enjoying listening to these drummers when the fun police came and told them to stop. It wasn't particularly late - about 6:30pm and they had a some good beats going not just random noise. It was a shame they had to stop although they appeared to be very good natured about it. I wouldn't have thought they were making much more noise than police helicopters and cars with sirens going. It would be interesting to know what the council noise team's position on it would be.rjsmall Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32781-drumming-on-peckham-rye/page/2/#findComment-674772 Share on other sites
Jeremy
I play in a rock band and TBH I wouldn't dream of forcing our racket on the innocent public. I imagine the noise level is similar. We have to cough up for a rehearsal room, so don't see why these guys can't do the same... tiddles
what a shame - I really love listening to them on our evening walks. And to be honest, it is only loud right next to them (there are no amplifiers!) it's not like it's everyday!1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32781-drumming-on-peckham-rye/page/2/#findComment-674976 Share on other sites
KidKruger
It's a mess when people can't practice their tunes out in public.Let the drummers do their thing FFS it's just once in a while. What is everybody so busy doing, watching shite TV ? boosboss
Yesterday evening was their last performance/session on Peckham Rye. One complaint had been received by the council from a local resident who was apparently unable to hear their TV. Unfortunately, despite the many people that did enjoy the drumming the single complaint was enough to stop it. I spoke to the guy who runs it, last night. He said that although it was a set back for them, they'd be carrying on somewhere else.
