Connect water butt to cast iron downpipe

Hi there, I would like to install a water butt in the garden. Does anyone have any advice for installing diverter from cast iron downpipe to water butt? Shall I replace the lower portion with plastic? Can anyone recommend a tradesperson that can assist with this? Thanks
