I generally dislike buses that talk to me, but I find it quite funny how the 176 seems so chuffed to be going to Penge.

I was dreading their introduction but I think they have done them pretty well. Am still amazed at how many roads I think "where am I??" as it announces yet another never-quite-noticed-by-me-before side road

Personally I prefer the 148 talking bus... it tells you all sorts of interesting things like "this bus is on diversion" and "this bus is being boarding by ticket inspectors, please have your tickets to hand" most helpful and polite!

Much better than the buses that had the 'the doors will be opening soon - the doors are about to open - doors opening' lark. Now that really did grate.

To think that the fantastic singing conductor on the 12 (I think that there was also a lady singing conductor on the 36 ) have been replaced by bendy, talking buses....you can't even have a fag upstairs now either
