Recommendation for curtains/blinds made to order

Recommended Posts

Hi Lisa,

A friend of mine, Jamie, has just set up his own curtain, blind and soft furnishings business, 'home sweet home'. He has made some great curtains for a friend, and is doing some blinds for me! His number is 07810 003937 and he lives in east dulwich.

Best wishes,

Emma

Hi Lisa,

I am a Curtain/Blind Maker and I can supply fabric or make your own fabric up, I do offer a free measuring service etc and do have fitters as well if needed otherwise I willing willingly tell you how to fit them yourself etc.

I do have a small website with a few examples of my work "tradecurtains.co.uk"

SewEastdulwich (formerly Moo Too) at 45 Lordship Lane opposite the Co-Op make curtains too and they have a great selection of materials to choose from. They also run knitting workshops. Take a look at their website.

Hello, I am interested in having a curtain made from a patterned material for my little boys' bedroom. I got inspiration from a retailer's text I read online a while back: Jazz up your windows with the gaming giants of yesteryear! Choose between Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Super Mario 1UPs inspired designs. From a distance they look just like they're depicted in all their pixelated glory, but get up close and you'll see they're cunningly constructed from game controllers and classic handheld devices, paying homage to everything from Wii remotes to the mighty Game Gear.

I do not own the material at this moment but am wondering if any of the people you recommended above can provide the necessary fabric to make the window coverings, especially something in a similar pattern to the one in the description ? I would be highly appreciative! Thank you so much and have a good day!

    • There have also been a few instances of it on Whateley Road recently.... Horrible.
    • You seem to have had a run of bad luck, but I don't understand some of what you say. What do you mean by each shop requiring a different bar code etc? Surely you only have one thing to show for each package you are sending or  collecting? Don't you get an email or some other kind of notification which contains the thing you have to show? Are you suggesting that it would be easier to queue up at the Post Office than do it at a shop? You have to show barcodes etc there as well. Where did I ever imply that anybody was "thick" or a "troglodyte"? I did suggest that some people wanted to hang onto the old ways of doing things, like only using cash, that's true. And it isn't that this country "can't run a decent, simple post office." It's that Crown post offices are losing money by maintaining  buildings which are expensive to run,  whilst no longer providing  the range of services they used to, because for various reasons they are no longer needed. And the services which are still needed can be more cost effectively provided elsewhere without causing undue inconvenience to customers. Things move on.  But in any case, nothing has been decided yet. The closure of the Lordship Lane post office is just a proposal. I hate self service tills 🤣
    • In case it is relevant here .... Albrighton Community Fridge [just further up from DKH Sainsburys on opposite side] are taking in unwanted electricals.   https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/
    • Interesting. Same area. Someone doing a circular walk with their dog?
