Too Good To Be True
Sorry if this has been done, but what is the house with the paintings by the LL/Heber Road southbound bus stop? LondonMix
It will soon be demolished for the new lightbox development. The interior and exterior has been painted by various street artists. This weekend you can go see it before it all gets destroyed! LondonMix
See the link above from Too Good to Be True. Lightbox are a local development firm. They are knocking down the house and developing 9 flats. The scheme was approved in December. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32371-house-llheber-road-bus-stop/#findComment-646293 Share on other sites

binary_star
Went today. Awesome. Although anyone else feel like it was more an emulation of street art than actual street art? Does that make sense? I've seen most of the featured artists (Nagel, ROA, Pablo Delgado etc) work all over East London but it doesn't feel as forced/staged. So many peope with their camera phones it felt a bit like going to see an animal in a zoo vs the wild. Over analytical? Perhaps, but I suppose it was street art East Dulwich style ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32371-house-llheber-road-bus-stop/#findComment-646524 Share on other sites

BeccaL
I thought it was brilliant - great use of a property and some really interesting ideas. Earl Aelfheah
I really liked the exhibition, but having seen inside the house I'm surprised it's being knocked down for redevelopment. Seemed like a nice big Victorian property, in pretty good condition. LondonMix
I wondered about that too. The description of the property of derelict by the developer on their website seems a bit of a stretch. However, I do get that for it to be converted from commercial to residential use, the back part of the house would probably need to be knocked down as there is currently no rear garden. Also, the side courtyard with the outbuildings is a ton of space that could have something done with it. Still, I think 9 flats on that plot is going to be a squeeze.
