Automatic pet feeder

We are selling an automatic pet feeder - it is this model:

We've never set it up properly, so it is unused. It turns on fine with batteries in, but when it is just plugged in without batteries, it doesn't switch on. Not sure if this is because it needs the batteries in to function (i.e. it's designed so you can't switch it on without the battery backup in place), or whether that's a fault, but wanted to make sure we were open on that.

Bought for £55, will take £10.
