Carpet Fitter Recommendation Wanted

Jeli

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm looking to have a carpet fitted in our bedroom. We have bought all the materials (underlay, carpet, gripper rods, etc) and are now looking for someone to fit it for a reasonable price. It's not a massive room (approx 12.5 sq metres) but we're looking for someone to fit it on or soon after Friday 24 May.

If you know of any fitter that you can recommend, or you are a fitter yourself, then please do get in touch. We're based in Herne Hill.

Thanks

Hi Jeli,

I will happily fit your carpet for you. I worked full time as a Carpet Fitter for 11 years ( I am currently pursuing a career change to electrician ) but still fit carpet too.

I joined the forum today at the recommendation of a friend to look for work.

I tried to attach some photos of a recent carpet job to this message but the files are slightly too big. Perhaps I can send then via email if you like.

Regards

Richard

Hi Karen

I was actually looking for someone myself, so I think your question must have been directed to Richard instead! I received an email from Richard yesterday to say that he had taken on a new job outside of London so was no longer available to do any floor fitting work.

Jim Cox just recarpeted two bedrooms and put lino down in our kitchen. He sourced all the materials for us also. He was fantastic, so tidy and a great end result. A really nice guy too. I couldn't recommend him highly enough. You can contact him on 07901 834901.

    • We went there yesterday for lunch, which was really delicious and excellent value. A starter plus a main is £11.95 for their "lunchtime special". Just a main is £8.95. We had excellent gyozas to start, then I had pad thai and my partner had a stir fry, both with tofu. They were large helpings,  freshly cooked, with fresh veg. There is the option to have chicken or beef (prawns are £2 extra) Also they now have Thai beer (Singha) on draught or in bottles (previously it was being your own alcohol). The service was also good. We were sorry and surprised not to see more people in there, particularly as there was a match on. It is really worth the short walk from Lordship Lane!
