Recommendation for 007 Handyman (Vic and Carl)

A big recommendation here for Vic and Carl from 007 Handyman (07885 537 463). They came round last night and did a number of jobs for us, including putting up a new light fitting, hanging a large painting, fixing some broken ikea drawers and re-attaching some cupboard doors that had come off their hinges. I've never used a handyman before and was seriously impressed with these guys in terms of the quality and speed of their work and also their attitude. They got it all done within an hour (!) so that my costs would be kept down. I was amazed at how good value it worked out as, especialy as I had spent most of last Saturday trying and failing to do some of the jobs they did in an hour!
Hi Duncs, they must have come to you straight after two days working flat out at my house! Brilliant guys, nothing was too much trouble. I found them to be very knowledgable & competent and as you say their attitude is so refreshing, genuine guys that are brilliant at what they do and take pride in a job well done and for a good price. Materials all charged at cost, with receipts too! Also had the teams' decorator Dicky here for four days - another top guy, really transformed my house, can't fault the work at all. Never thought I would find anyone as honest and hardworking as Vic, Carl & Dicky. Already booking for more work when pennies allow!

    • I’ve viisited the lordship lane post office  a couple of times over the past few years and found them so grumpy and unhelpful. One nearly falling asleep whilst people in the queue waiting! Very poor customer service.
    • Not owning a car is a good way 🙂
    • Nope.  I worked on a task force twenty years ago, when the UK was considered to have one of the worst records in Europe driven in part by the theft of high end vehicles which ended up in the Gulf where they also drive on left  Keyless cars have if anything made things worse. Get a car that is undesirable.  It's for the manufacturers to sort out, dunno why not. Two reports, manufacturers saying things have got much better, albeit ten years ago and the Guardian pointing a finger at the trade  https://www.smmt.co.uk/2015/04/stolen-vehicles-down-70-in-a-decade-as-smmt-calls-for-more-detailed-theft-tracking/ https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/24/revealed-car-industry-was-warned-keyless-vehicles-vulnerable-to-theft-a-decade-ago
    • Could anyone recommend a tutor for Year 6 maths please? Not for the 11+, just for a child who needs extra support to reach the expected level in SATS later this year. thank you.
