I'm setting myself a new challenge to make the game more interesting.

Will be posting one clue a day, and will try to make my turn last as long as possible.

Todays first clue, already posted.

Next one tomorrow. The clues will get easier as the days go by.

Aiming (would like) to last a week!

I just wanted to see if I could make it last a week, as a kind of experiment!

But, If you are desperate for more clues, I'll forget about it & post another shortly.

And no, not Ian Curtis

I just wanted to see if I could post 7 clues, without losing my turn & it looks like I achieved it!

It's actually really hard to post relevant clues, without giving too much away at once.

So, the final, giveaway clue:

Watch Closely Now

and you will reveal the character!

can't say as I've seen this film I'm afraid

but John Norman Howard from A Star is Born with Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand.

I can't say as I was a milion miles away with some of my thinking, but I was going down the route of real life music stars played by singers.

He was much better in Blade ;)

Bah, tough one.

1) This characters rock solid career went downhill fast!

He started off as a famous, successful rock singer & threw it all away

2) He was on a mission to self-destruct, and ended up killing himself

At the end of the film, he crashed his car ( I cried!!)

3) My character is from the most recent version of this film

There were two other versions before the 1976 one

4) He has a good voice

He was the lead singer in a rock band

5) The person who played him had another career, apart from acting. So did the leading lady

Kris Kristofferson was a singer before he became an actor, so was Barbra Streisand

6) He was in for a bumpy ride, but may have set a track record

His band was called 'The John Norman Howard Speedway' The 'track' record also referred to music!

7) Watch Closely Now and you will reveal the character!

'Watch Closely Now' was the bands theme song & one of the films most famous tracks.

I think I could've kept that one running for another week!

Well done EP. You got there in the end!

    • Sorry Malumbu, but to say that Pakistani men are being 'demonised' is disgraceful. The men in the rape gangs were predominantly from Pakistan - that is a fact.  To suggest pointing this out is victimisation totally undermines the horror that the predominantly white young girls suffered at their hands. The men exploited this, using their nationality as a shield, and told their victims they wouldn't be believed. And they were right - some of he brave people who did call it out lost their jobs.  To deny there is a strong cultural element to this, so as to protect your fear of being seen as anything other than liberal and progressive, is disingenuous at the very least. And to suggest that calling it out is far right is insane, I'm sure plenty women and girls of Pakistani heritage would agree.  That Jenrick and Badenoch have picked this up and used it as a political football is a really disappointing start to the year, though at least today's debate in PMQs was respectful in its tone. But for the victims to have this glibly brought up and used to bait the other side just goes to show how little some of the protagonists really care about them.
    • They like the warmth of roads and pavements, they are quite common on car parks and school playgrounds.
    • Just up from the co-op, going towards Goose Green, a wagtail bird was flitting about on the pavement. It wasn’t worried about people walking along and then another one joined it and both flew over to a cake shop pecking at crumbs.  Never seen one before and was nice to observe.
