Are there any local charities? The places named in the article are doing amazing work but based in west or north London

I get confused about what to send to people in need after disasters.

Money is easy to give and to allocate. Many of us can add value by tucking the Gift Aid box and adding our personal details.

I’ve heard that edibles and clothes are less likely to be of need because they are expensive and bulky to transport; such claims were made after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, for example.

I have 3 bags of blankets, shoes, clothes and coats that I would like to donate.

Unfortunately, I don't have a car. Would anyone be willing to pick up, I'm in the SE23 area.
