Hello We're moving to the area and looking for free or affordable drop in stay and play sessions for our 2 year old in SE22 or nearby, either at children's centres or churches? We're looking for any day of the week. I have done an internet search and there seems to be a real lack of them in this area which is so sad, but I hope you can prove me wrong! Thanks

Before the pandemic Southwark Council used to have an up to date list of the local stay and plays and other activities for babies and toddlers, but I can't find it now.

I used to go to the Albrighton centre https://www.dulwichwood.com/aardvarkcc/timetable/ for a few sessions, and 1st place which always had great sessions, but it's a bit further https://www.1stplace.uk.com/timetable

If you get in touch with them, they might be able to point you in the direction of other places nearby. Hope it helps!

There is a free music group for pre school children up to 4 years at Goose Green Primary school on Wednesday mornings (term time). It’s lovely & their music teacher is brilliant.

There used to be a playgroup called Magic moments at Bew court just past strip of shops top of lordship lane towards grove tavern. Sadly COVID shut it and I bumped into the owner in park over a year ago who still seemed as if they would reopen but there has been no news. It's was so lovely and reasonable cost you could drop off your little one for a couple of hours. I think maybe the council had been trying to claim back the hall or something as I don't see why it was shut. It was pretty old school like playgroup I went to when I was little but I kind of liked that! We definitely need more. . There is nothing like it around here as far as I can see. You need something local or by the time you've dropped off it's time to pick up!

There is free stay and play In Peckham rye oak school on every Tuesday morning 9:30-11:00am.

They are very good, it’s very nice two big rooms to play, outside area, water play, anything. I go there every week with a boy that I look after and we always enjoy it.

Here's a relatively updated list of all the stay and play sessions in Dulwich (and the borough as a whole) - https://www.theplaymap.co.uk/playgroups/stay-and-play-in-southwark

it might be easier to use the whole map view on that site, as you can also see sessions in surrounding areas and boroughs. Hope that helps.

    • Well, well, well! Pretty disappointing and tacky. I have some sympathy for Tesla owners but although he has shown his colours now, Elon was always a tosser.  I have always been sad and frustrated by Belair House, and I wish someone could get a grip and market it successfully as a good redto and bar. As the earlier comment said it is a beautiful building in a great location, albeit a bit shabby here and there. Over the years we have eaten and had drinks there but the last time was about 5 years ago and we haven't been back since after a cockroach crawled up my arm as I waited at the bar for my pint...

    • No they were created by a Hong Kong artist and became a craze when a K-Pop girl band became associated with them. They do limited editions and they've become a collectors item (Like Jelicat for adults)- I'm a bit ashamed that at 65 years old I know so much about them but they are very much a fashionable item. And I'm always interested in Popular Culture. Whover lost it must be gutted because I understand that when you buy one (they're boxed) you never know which one or what colour you'll get...so if the owner loved that one it may be very difficult to replace.
