...for losing the election,you realised like the people of London that it was time for you to go.

You did some good things as mentioned above (though anyone who thinks the 'bendies' are a good thing is sectionable in my haughty opinion) but you long lived out your usefulness.

Cheerio, napoo, goodbye.

Good post HonaloochieB I agree with you about the 'bendies' and also agree about him outliving his usefulness, but what I vehemently apposed most of all was the messing with the traffic lights, 2 minutes on stop and 10 seconds on go, all to get his congestion charge in place. The place choking in fumes and nobody moving by foot nor wheel.

Thank you for standing up to central government;

for opposing the PPP financing of the tube;

for making public transport noticeably better than it was 8 years ago;

for befriending democratically elected South American leaders and giving London access to cheap fuel;

for being a international diplomat and attracting investment in cosmopolitan city;

for sticking two fingers up to Associated Newspapers!

Have a good retirement.

    • Well yes.  But only up to a point eu countries have had to spend a LOT of money to accommodate English madness  - and has had to deal with years of incoherent positioning.  It has destabilised the EU as a group - or has at the very least distracted it and consumed bandwidth  which is why Putin was so pro-Brexit. Which enabled other subsequent events - it’s hard to imagine the world as it is now without Brexit.  A stronger EU.  Uk not a mess and in its own after multiple elections and way more prime ministers than 9 years could possibly allow   a stronger united front
