Thats pretty much it. I guess in theory he didnt win enough European Cups but its been a more difficlt format thatn in the Paisley years, so I give the nod to Sir Alex.

"You mean that when those in the European cup were actual champions rather today's format for the "champions" league. Yes, much harder to win these days. :-/"

much harder to win these days

you still have all the champions in the competition you know- just there's many more games, and groups to get out of (and a liverpool fan should know that league format is tougher than cup format- you have to be consistently good to win it now)

not saying he isnt a great manager or slagging the job he did, but the timing and appintment was almost perfectly positioned- either luck or planning, I dunno.

"Former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce, on reports that Everton manager David Moyes could be named the next manager of Manchester United, tells Sky Sports: "It would not surprise me. He's a very talented manager who has been at Everton for more than 10 years.

"He's not had huge finances but he has still managed to put an Everton team together that will comfortably finish in the top 10. He has been in the job a long time and he has all the credentials to be a top manager for Manchester United.""

he should be a manager, what with his understanding of the game. Moyes at Everton for 10 years, with no money - I never knew that.

All the rumours are Moyes but I think he'd struggle. Maybe that's the idea so whoever takes over when Moyes is sacked after one season doesn't have SAF to live up to. Klopp anyone?

Personally I'd like to see an OB like Sparky do it - love to see how he'd manage to get them into the bottom three and up for relegation despite their riches etc.

crikey woody, that's a bit harsh on the guy. He has wound me up many times over the years but you could take the exact same circumstances and put ANYONE else in at that exact same time and there isn't a hope in hell they would have achieved what SAF has.

    • Paul's on lordship lane is a good place for garden plants.  He is based near the old harvester on the opposite side of the road he offers good advice on which plants will grow in different positions etc.
    • I've read this thread and made notes! So many useful tips! Would anyone have a recommendation for  a place that sells good quality topsoil that would also be able to drop from a tipper? 10 cubic meters minimum. Thanks in advance and any further advice on garden centres with good selection of shrubs/climbers would be welcome, I plan to visit them all. Garden is fully dug up with drainage just put in.
    • I reccomend Crab Salad-I used to have my hair cut by the owner when he was at Blue tit in Peckham...I moved with him to Cs when he opened it. I've had other stylists there when he was'nt available on the date I could make and they're all excellent. Its a nice vibe too-just very relaxed not too 'hairdressery' (If you know what I mean) and I've reccomended it to neighbours and colleages who've all been very happy. Its not the cheapest but nor is it super pricey and they use good products too.
    • I went last week and would recommend. I was very happy to see pricing based on hair length and especially a fringe trim price. I live nearby and don’t need it fully styled / blown out after a cut (curly so usually prefer to do it myself) so I like that it is variable pricing in that way.
