I expect many of us have sent an official email to the wrong person, and then had to cringingly have to ask for it to be deleted. My worst still make me shudder.

But they have been from an official address not my personal one

In my job, if I didn’t immediately report my mistake to relevant dept I would be gone by end of day

Asking people to ignore and delete just doesn’t cut it

I made it simpler by copying in the right and the wrong people. On one occasion the wrong person then thanked me and the right people for sharing. Fortunately most found it funny, and me embarrassing.

Is that enough or do you need more info before I am shot.
