Just saw a bunch of teenagers throwing fireworks at each other just opposite the play park! Frightened the life out of me as I first thought it was gun fire. No regards for families close by and really scared my daughter

This has been reported to the police but wasn’t sure if anyone else had seen this

The bigger question that trading standards need to look at is where they got fireworks from as that breaks two rules

1. From 15 October to 10 November is the legal period at this time of year to sell fireworks (Diwali, New Year and Chinese New Year are other legal periods for sales)

2. Fireworks can not be sold to under 18s

We also saw them throwing fireworks on St Francis Road and reported it to the police. It appears to be the same teenagers who are riding Boris and Lime bikes and wearing balaclavas/face masks.

We used to throw bangers at each other when kids. Not right but it happens....

Not sure they use bangers these days...

Kids at school, in my time (I'm really old now!), had upped the level to proper screamers that were set off down the corridors *shrugs

I used to do this when i was a teenager all the time, and in fact would still do it now, if i didn't have a big garden to let them off in instead.

Ill be having a huge display again this year, on Lacon Road if anyone wants to keep an eye and ear out.

    • As a result of the Horizon scandal it now seems very clear that the Post Office management are highly disingenuous and not be trusted!  There needs to be a campaign launched to challenge the threatened closure, unless the Post Office can demonstrate beyond doubt that the branch is loss making - and even then it could argued that better management could address this. I hope the local media take this up and our MP  and a few demonstrations outside wouldn’t do any harm. Bad publicity can be very effective!
    • Unlikely. It would take a little more than a bit of Milton to alter the pH of eighty-odd thousand gallons of water.
    • It actually feels as though what I said is being analytically analysed word by word, almost letter by better. I really don't believe that I should have to explain myself to the level it seems someone wants me to. Clearly someones been watching way too much Big Brother.
    • Sadly they don't do the full range of post office services
