Our holiday cottage of 20 years is available at a small cost for family and 'new' friends to enjoy. Ferry and flight costs for the summer are pretty reasonable at present so it may be worth considering before they rocket. It is free for the summer hols after 4 August, at May half term and for most of the spring and also into the Autumn. I'll upload a few pictures later today

PM me for pictures and full details. Very family friendly but suitable for couples and groups too.

Built in 1870 this stone cottage is near to Huelgoat in North Finistere. 40mins from coasts, 5 mins from town and village. Wild and less wild walks, cycling (a number of bikes are provided), wildlife, cultural stuff, smaller theme parks, tree top adventure and plenty of other activities. A gentle nine hole golf course.

Large bedroom with double four poster bed, bunks and spare single bed. Second double bedroom. Large lounge with wood burner, Bed settee downstairs and glamping in the barn! Bedding, BBQ, games, table football, bikes, canoe and other stuff provided. Refurbished bathroom with large walk in shower. Comfortably sleeps six, potentially more, could take two young families, 1/2 an acre of land.

Ideal if you like the outdoor life, star gazing, a bit of privacy and want to avoid the masses. A minimum of a week but flexible on arrival and departure days.

Don't be shy! Some more photos attached, PM/DM me with your e-mail or number and I'll send full details in a PDF. The bathroom was modernised two years ago with a full size double shower head walk in shower, a range coooker is being installed in the kitchen as part of an update (keeping the cottage look!).

There are some Black Friday offers with Brittany Ferries, school holiday ferry crossings are still reasonably priced. I'll be fitting a range cooker and some other improvements over coming months and having an outbuilding re-roofed (how exciting!).

Bathroom picture attached, difficult to get a wide angle but shows the new walk in shower. It has a toilet in the shower room and a second separate toilet.

I'm afraid no broadband - it simply isn't used enough to justify, and for most 4g signal is good enough, or using free wifi in bars and the like. For those that have to work (surely not on holiday) you can get yourself a 4/5g box and a local sim card - unlimited wifi for a month is about £40

But for many it is nice to be slightly remote, will at least to have a break from gaming - old school board games, cards etc provided in the house and even a jigsaw or three. And small snooker table and a proper bar football table. Petanque too of course

    • Farmers aren't being gifted anything; Their heirs are being gifted millions of pound worth of income generating assets by chance of birth. An estate that they have done nothing to earn. Most farms worth under £3m will still end up being passed on tax free. Those that do have to a pay inheritance tax will do so at just 20% on that part which is over the threshold (rather than the standard 40%), and they'll have 10 years to do so (usually it is payable immediately). So it is still preferential terms for those being gifted a multimillion pound estate So to repeat my previous question... Why do you think people coming into a massive, unearned windfall shouldn't pay any tax, but a nurse who works hard for everything they earn, should pay tax?
    • We recently used Jan at Silver Fern for some fencing and driveway works, he also built a side return shed which is now a water tight space for storage.    Would certainly recommend speaking to Jan for gardening or landscaping needs. http://www.silverfernlondon.co.uk [email protected]
    • And the latest shocker, Inflation this morning was 2.3% up from 1.7& the previous month, a 0.6% increase in a month, that is dreadful. So Robber Reeves plan is already working (NOT). Inflation has begun to increase and will continue to do so, I predict the next set of unemployment figures will show a rise. Neither of these things can be blamed on the last Govt, it's down to the inept budget and impact it is having already.
    • Andrews and Arnold are brilliant https://www.aa.net.uk/. If there's any problems someone picks up the phone on the 2nd or 3rd ring and several times they have rung me immediately after I sent an e-mail. As they are primarily B2B, their support is excellent and there are a lot fewer miscommunications with OpenReach. Go to their website and enter your postcode which will show you exactly what type of broadband is available in your area.
