A great pair of weathered composite stone garden large urns on plinths with decorated bowls and rims standing 61 cm high and with a diameter of 42cm.

The pair are weathered with moss and lichen so would fit right into any outdoor space and look like they have been there for years! If you wanted to clean them up then I'm sure a good clean & some TLC would get them much cleaner . One is a bit wobbly on the base which can be easily fixed. I inherited them & I believe they are genuine French antiques. Unfortunately they don't suit our garden & we haven't got the space for them.

They are extremely heavy but the urns and bases are two separate pieces which makes for easier transportation. They attach together by a metal rod.

Please see photographs.

These sell for 100's of pounds usually so grab a bargain! I just want them to be loved....

You are welcome to come & view them. We live in Peckham Rye just off Bellenden Road.

Thanks!

    • Love Substack! It’s home to a wide range of writers/subject matters. I subscribe to a couple of writers that I rate (Ottolenghi has recently started a weekly column on there and local food writer Helen Graves is on it too.) With a paid subscription you get the full article/blog but there’s also plenty of content that’s essentially free. I regard it as my own personal ‘magazine’ of writers curated by me!
    • The affection for that tree seems to be overriding the safety of that tree. it is the tree that children climb. It is also a tree that could fall down. Let’s hope the two things don’t coincide.
    • Hopefully a final post on this thread (for now...) Alerted by the horrible sound of a chainsaw this morning from near the cherry tree, I scuttled over to the park to make sure there hadn't been another "misunderstanding". The contractors were removing a 'double' tree from the triangle area nearby. I asked them about the cherry, and they confirmed that they wouldn't be removing it. We were then joined by a very worried looking man who turned out to be the tree officer for the park. He had apparently been on a walk around with members of FoPRP, had also been alerted by the proximity of the chainsaw, and was also relieved to see it wasn't the cherry being removed. He also confirmed that they wouldn't be removing the cherry, but that it was diseased in the lower trunk / roots and therefore would fall over at some point. To this end they are investigating methods to provide it with some support, to hopefully prolong it's life. He definitely understood & appreciated the importance of & affection for this particular tree. Hopefully someone from FoPRP can provide us with updates as & when they occur. I've suggested before that maybe Gala could contribute some cash towards it's protection, especially as they caused some damage to it last year...
    • If trees are being removed to facilitate event trackway and vehicle movement that is worrying and flies in the face of Southwark's alleged environmental concerns. I take it, the tree pictured above was not diseased?
