On the 3rd of June i'm heading to westnorwoodfeast @misspsbarbecue, if only to sample MissP's beef ribs. He's a local West Norwood lad who's doing great stuff with slow cooked meats.

If you're in Hackney sometime soon, try out the wood-fired outdoor BBQ @LickyChops at the Climpsons Coffee Arch, 374 Helmsley Place. E8 3SB

Today we had some great smoked aubergine & shittake mushroom tacos at the Ambriento taco van in Kings X. Often found on Nth X road market.

Flippin Lovely !

UncleBen, the line between hipster and tramp is a blurred one, which becomes more blurry by the day.

Have a read of this article, it might put you straight on why they think street food is cool.

Don't forget, it's un-cool to eat pie n mash, unless its eaten from a garbage disposal unit at the back of the shop (adds a sense of irony)

No, that was me.

I was in my ironic hobo hipster outfit

Get with the programme UB, get out into the real world, instead of tossing yourself off to internet porn.

But then I showed him this thread and how some people call it street food. Well he stopped eating out of the bin, walked off mumbling "I'm not a pretentious pra t"

Yeah but at least they can click on 'UncleBen', see "User Deactivated", and realise that there is some sense in the world after all.

Having been to my share of pop-ups, street-food markets, supper clubs, and various similar things, I've seen both sides of the coin. Delicious food at a great price in a fun and sociable environment. And five slices of rain soaked pizza for ?30 in the arse end of East London, followed by some bearded berk playing guitar in our faces while everyone smugly congratulates themselves.

I know exactly the place you speak of

There's good and bad in all areas, whether it's street or in bricks and mortar. Went to Brockley Mkt yesterday, they've got a good balance I reckon.

And Street Feast Dalston is a good ?20 start to a night out. Yes it's cranked heavy on the Hipster ranking, but still mixed enough to be enjoyable

Personally, I think the London is better with it all than without

Mind you I did laugh at that article, I do know of Lady "Shrimp" Balfour
