I've just been at a Give or Take stall in Acton and I think a similar thing would go down well here in ED.

Basically its like live freecycling. I think Southwark Council put on an event like this last year but I didn't know about it.

I wonder if its something that might be considered for the Dulwich Festival Fair. There's as excellent "how to" guide on th Forest Recycling Project page.

They vary from place to place. The one in Acton was just a stall and they didn't take clothes, electrical items or furniture. Sometimes, especially if the council is involved, they test any electrical goods. Sometimes they provide a collection service (for bigger items).

Not good for me - I just saw it. I just thought it was a brilliant idea and one that should go down well in SE22.

Somebody - admin I presume - renamed my post and now it looks a bit weird.

Maybe in wouldn't work in SE22. Perhaps the residents like to slosh their cash at the tat shops.

    • I want to store some equipment in my bedroom but without having to look at it every night so need a fairly light and simple white painted cupboard against the wall, not built in, I just need specific measurements and I can’t find anything pre made that suits my requirements. Painted hardboard is fine.
    • Hi there, does anyone have a short length of semi decent speaker cable they don't need? Or a longer cable that they would be happy to cut and make shorter? I don't need banana plugs or anything on the ends, and only need about 1m (potentially less). Many thanks!
    • I have had this many times at Superdrugs on LL. I find it disorganised and many times I was yelled at 'we are closing in 5 min' when I entered after work on my way home. I don't mind being told that they are closing soon, but not the way they did it.  I try to avoid it now and go to the store in Peckham which I find fab with bigger selection and prices correctly noted.
