I can see the promo video now. People emerging form the side streets off LL, singly or in twos and threes at first , making the odd excited chirp, then merging into columns as they move along LL, their stridulations mounting to a frenzy as they reach Poundland's door.

Will it follow the style of the new "golden arches" promo and use the music by yello "oh yeah"

The window coverings give a lot of (obviously, pro-Poundland) info, including that prices will not be higher than in their larger shops and various statements on the company’s environmental and charity credentials. I think the big bosses are well aware of the brickbats thrown at the firm and so are striking back.

Saw today across front of shop

“Reverse gentrification ? ‘

Could east dulwich get anymore cringe

I assumed you meant this was graffiti, which would have been pretty cringeworthy, but in fact it's Poundland's own publicity material, which is immensely cringeworthy.

Ok, own up. Who was it that said this quoted in The Sun??

One fumed in an online forum: "How am I expected to push past all those tracksuits while I'm carrying a selection of cheeses from Mons (a local posh cheesemongers) not to mention the quince paste."

"You know, there may be a few scraps outside all of a sudden"

A classic bit of Sun journalism 🤣

It's quite disheartening to see a Poundland opens in East Dulwich to be honest.

Every time I've been to one of these stores, all they seem to have on offer in term of food are unhealthy snacks, like confectionary, sodas and crisps. really don't see any cause for celebration.
