Sunglasses
HelloFor obvious reasons I’m suddenly curious about solar panels to produce my own electricity. I live in a conservation area and the south facing roof area faces the conservation area / road, which I think probably means it is not permitted to install panels, unless given permission by Southwark. Has anyone done this? And, if as an alternative, I installed panels on the west and east facing roofs at the back which don’t need planning permission, will this generate much electricity, or is it not worth the bother/expense?Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/313389-experience-of-installing-solar-panels-in-conservation-area/ Share on other sites
Peckham Park
With East or West facing panels you get about 75% of south facing - so it’s still worth it. North facing only about 50% so ROI is harder to achieve. With kWh of electric now 50p and likely to increase even further, panels at the back of your property do make good financial sense.
