diagnostic ultrasound at King's

GP has referred me to the ultrasound dept at King's to investigate suspected pregnancy-related SPD. He told me to phone this morning but the person I spoke to said that they did not make telephone appointments and that I would have to post or fax my referral, or take it in person.

Has anyone any experience of this clinic who might be able to estimate my chances of being seen on the same day if I turn up in person? I need to take time off work to attend during clinic hours and it would be very frustrating if I had to take leave on two separate days. I would ideally like to go tomorrow and wait until I can be seen but I don't know if this will be at all possible.

Any experiences would be gratefully received.
