Ohh googy we live in Bellenden road

and may i say 11 years ago this year i moved to london to Peckahm esate side and was awful there may i add,but greenas was bells garden esate.

now i used to come through bellenden road often and all the shops were almost derilict and properties looked awful.

guess what 3 years later in 2002 we got a counil flat transfer to Bellendenr oad-Yes you guessed it.

and what a massive change to the area.

feel very safe and really love all the shops and the feel and community spririt here now.

I would like to see adjoinig areas such as east dulich and other peckham roads having the same sort of interest and money taken in them.

ive also noticed some buisness'es are not doing well and keep changing hands-and others staying a strong.......

We thought this is because there are to many take aways the same food and hence they carnt all do well, but when tried the different ones we found its more a case of quality of product and good service that seems to be a stay or go here.

so yes we need to be behind our local shops and push for a variety of them so buisness thrives.

alas moving to East Dulwich but will come back alot and made good relationships with neighbours here.

i would say im glad the monteplier has been done up along with the gowlett,we have a favorite which is the gardini bt alas carnt afford much of places here.

    • Not sure about changing hands but the Peckham Rye one is open and hasn’t had any random closures. Our child is very happy there but there was a resolved Ofsted complaint half way through last year.  Things don’t look good for the Devon nursery owned by the same company - looks like loads of issues with Ofsted which can be seen in its latest report.
