Reg Smeeton
I don't know how much tree-watering Southwark Council is doing in this hot weather, but if you have a young tree on the street near you, keep an eye on it, and if there's no sign of it being watered then do consider giving it a decent drink. 3 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/311315-watering-trees/ Share on other sites
Reg Smeeton
We might get a tiny bit of rain this week, but regardless please water any young street trees near to you (give a tree a full watering-can of water every three days). They're parched, and it's hard to over-water them! 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/311315-watering-trees/#findComment-1588276 Share on other sites
Nigello
The two small bushes in the square plot at Cyrena/Whateley are burnt to a crisp. If anyone loves trees (and the benefits they bring to animals and humans) please water them, ideally with waste water. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/311315-watering-trees/#findComment-1588289 Share on other sites
Reg Smeeton
Another reminder that in this blistering heat, there are young trees going thirsty. If your local tree is looking parched, do give it a watering can's worth of water over the weekend. This should tide it over to the rain that the forecasts suggest will arrive next week. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/311315-watering-trees/#findComment-1589764 Share on other sites

Nigello
I agree and have watered an established tree near me. I’d like it a lot if a pub or business that has plenty of grey water would adopt a new tree if one’s nearby and water it daily. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/311315-watering-trees/#findComment-1589789 Share on other sites
Reg Smeeton
Do you have young trees on your street? Do think about giving them a watering-can's worth of water. Even if we get some rain today, the forecast is for another couple of weeks of dry weather. 2 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/311315-watering-trees/#findComment-1626629 Share on other sites
