...a youngish flowering cherry n Felbrigg road, with a council notice saying it's being removed because of 'litigation', whatever that means. Roots damaging house? Cherries damaging cars?


It's a seemingly healthy tree near the Blue Brick Cafe, one of a few blossoming cherries on that section of road.


It would be a pity to lose it.

I think the problem is trees often get cited as reasons for movement in houses - many years ago neighbours next to our old house came home to find their living room ceiling had partially fallen down and the insurance surveyor said that it was because of a tiny tree in the pavement taking moisture from the (clay) ground and that caused enough movement to create the ceiling collapse. Council had the tree removed very quickly thereafter.
