Kitchen extension

Hi,

I have recently been in touch with an architect regarding a kitchen extension, approximately 3m x 5m. Prices are through the roof at the moment and he mentioned he is doing an extension, it's costing around 100k, this is for a bolt on for a period property. We are in a smaller property but would still need a more cost effective ways of doing this. Has anyone done any wooden bolt on extensions this year or can recommend other ways of extending?
