This topic has made me laugh, I've noticed two (sort of) references to the Lord of the Rings and assumed that this is what it would be about....

The first one - Prancing Pony. That's the name of the Inn in the Fellowship of the Ring.

Habit forming - because I was in LOTR mode, I read that as hobbit forming.

I don't know what I'm on either.... :-S

I have a very well thumbed paperback copy of LOTR and a nice hardback version that I have NEVER read.

I also have a copy of the edition of The Hobbit that was read to me at infants school - took ages to find.

Harumph! ...

How about an all-night showing of the LOTR films?? >:D<

Jeez, yes - the Silmarillion. Made Foucault's Pendulum seem light reading.

MP, surely your fantabulous name doesn't need further embellishment - what does it mean, something like Bone Eater? Very cool. But I slightly suspect you of playing Dungeons & Dragons after that orc-fighting comment.

    • Stewart Lee, who I have seen numerous times, played a gig 18 months ago in Peckham, turning up late and doing around 12 mins of an expected headliner slot.  He has no social media presence and is uncontactable.  I complained to the ticket agents and promoters to no avail.  Obviously I wouldn't boycott a paper due to this incident. With hard copy print declining more liberal media need support irrespective of how easy it is to pick holes.  The decline of regional and local papers has compounded the issue of so many drawing their information from the right wing/populist press, and unverified reports on social media.
