Hi all

Thank you to everyone who voted in yesterday's local elections.

Thanks to your support, Cllr Charlie Smith and I will continue on as your Goose Green Labour Councillors, joined by Portia Mwangangye. I know I speak for all three of us - and our Labour councillors across Dulwich and Southwark - when I thank you for putting your faith in us. Across the Dulwich area, Labour Councillors have been returned by significant margins. In Goose Green, 57% of the votes cast were for Labour.

Whoever you voted for, or if you did not vote at all, we are here to represent you. So do feel free to drop us an email if there is anything that we can do.

Best wishes

James

Ah Cllr McAsh - we have been expecting you! ;-) Welcome back.

Congrats on your victory. Many of us are very much hoping that you, and your fellow victorious councillors across the wards, will commit to uniting the community and working with everyone to try and mend the damage caused by the LTNs and the bad taste the way it was handled left in many people's mouths.

Now the hard work really starts!

Sigh Rockets!

Congratulations James - you work really hard for Goose Green and are responsive to those in your ward!

Now you are settled back in office, can you raise with your fellow councillors and the leader the issue around the removal of the no 12 bus service by TfL as highlighted here https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,2277496,2279861#msg-2279861

Obviously this is short sighted by TfL and the impact will be massive on the community, elderly and disabled who rely on it and as commuter numbers increase whilst we return to more normal working patterns there will obviously be less alternatives to driving which goes against the councils goal of reducing car usage.

I look forward to how you and the council will work with the community and TfL to overturn this ludicrous removal of essential local bus services.

I can't agree more James! Particularly a south London bus route, we already suffer from a shortage of frequent/reliable ways to get into the centre.

Hi all

Hope everyone is doing well.

Bus cuts

I completely agree with Spartacus on this. Southwark Labour has launched a petition which we are using to raise the issue and mobilise support against the cuts. You can sign it here: https://www.change.org/p/save-southwark-buses-76a6cd96-80f9-41d6-be68-dd7ccbc18e67

The proposed removal of the #12 in particular is completely galling.

Cabinet role

Yes, as of next month I will be covering Cllr Helen Dennis's cabinet role: Climate Emergency and Sustainable Development. I will still be representing Goose Green though, so no change there.

Daily Mail

Thanks Rockets - that's kind of you.

Best wishes,

James

I'm sorry to hear this.
