We witnessed someone do a 3 point turn and hit our car, right outside our house. Husband ran out after car, shouting down the street, they slowed and then carried on!

I wouldn't mind but there was quite an audible crunch that we heard it over the TV, so sure they are fully aware of what they did.

If you are the owner of a black Ford Fiesta, LF06 BVU, we will be reporting this to the police.

Thanks for denting our car and the consideration you showed by not stopping. Have a great day!

How can you find out about its insured status (unless you are its owner, the police or an insurance company)?

This happened to me - there were two extremely kind witnesses who came forward (I didn't see it). Despite the witnesses, the woman denied hitting my car when police visited her. She insisted on us taking the case to court. In the meantime my insurance costs rose by about ?1k because the risk was sat with me since I hadn't been proved right at that point. Myself and the witnesses had to take a day off work. We sat in court waiting to be heard for several hours and she phoned to say she was running late. A few hours later she pleaded guilty by phone. She was fined about ?300 I believe and had 3 points on her licence so I still think I came off worse. I reclaimed some, but not all, of the increased insurance premium (less than half) and I had to take a day off work and juggle childcare.

So in short, I sympathise with you enormously!

I've got over it now, Huguenot! My faith in human kindness was restored by the two lovely witnesses. They didnt have to tell me, declare their names, fill in paperwork, give up a day of their time etc but did so as a gesture of kindness and sympathy. It's hard to be angry when people are so considerate.

You can get the registered details of the vehicle at https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/app/home/intro/. If you want to know the name and address of the registered keeper you can apply to DVLA giving reasonable cause for your enquiry. http://www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/data/relinfo/howtorequest.aspx.

    • I've been a member for many years (through 3 different organisations running it..) and a regular attendee of the gym though not the classes. I'm REALLY REALLY disapointed that it now feels very much geared toward weights and strength training with the cardio machines cut down considerably in number (only about 5 or 6 X trainers..I had to wait to use one) running machines halved in number and a lot of wasted space. Also I thought the actual cardio machine I did use was pretty rubbish (It felt like something from Argos) and not by one of the well known gym equipment brands that I've used in other gyms..also no screen display settings so you can 'run on a beach' etc. And the Wifi still was'nt linked to machines so no youtube netflix etc. I felt the gym seemed less inclusive the ab crunch has gone, seated row gone, the seated machine you make cycling movements with your arms, gone...these are all machines I see older members using, I did'nt notice if the recumbent bikes had gone or the two step machines, the ski-movement x trainers of which there were 2 have also gone My general impression was that these was a distinct scarcity of weight based machines and the focus was very much on free weights with this taking up the majority of the space. BECAUSE ITS A COUNCIL RUN GYM SURELY WITH THE AGING POPULATION AND OBESITY CRISIS THE EQUIPMENT IN SUCH A LARGE FLOOR SPACE SHOULD OF A RANGE THAT CAN BE USED BY OLDER AND LESS FIT MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY?! Kings hospital used to bring groups to the gym to use the use the cardio equipment-I don't know what they'll use now? I raised concerns about the majority of the space being used for free weights when I saw the plans and asked for member feedback prior to the refurb, I must have been in the minority I guess. I was also suprised that the changing area is still the same and looking pretty tired. I felt that with all this new equipment they should have had lots of visible staff on the floor helping people get to understand settings and so forth. I wish Everyone active still ran the gym..in my experience they were the best. But having really looked forward to the reopening I found it a real let down☹️ In a nutshell if you want a muscle gym its great and I understand there will soon be a boxing area-I was not told that there would be more cardio machines coming.
    • Happy New Year to my amazing clients and EDF for all your great support
    • I've been training with the wonderful Marisa at Gokay's Fitness Hub for the last few months and have seen really significant improvements in my strength and have regained a lot of lost body confidence. I feel really happy abd energised at the end of each session. One of the side benefits of the Fitness Hub is the sense of community there, the group classes are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend! 👌 👍😀
