Oh Seany, Seany, Seany....when (if) I do come to an EDF drinks I will by you a big foamy pint and give you a friendly, hetro mankiss on the cheek....as I like you, I really do. ...have I wound you up that much? My comments about censorship were aimed at Moos(and we sorted our argument, by agreeing to differ, amicably) and then Pongo who was acrtually rude to me (go and read it again) not you fella, you're a touch paranoid sometimes methinks. My failure to respond to your private male was/is my inability to master the interwebby thing and nothing personal...honest. XXX Quids

* i appear to have come over all faint *

in fact (with all due credit to dulwich mum )

* swoon *

when i get my hands on a proper keyboard i might reply to that one properly. But for now i live in hope you join brendan and me on wed night inside 72

anyway - now that I'm over the shock do I start with the positives or the negatives?

Cheers for the response quids - I had an idea during yesterday's dialogue with others that you weren't quite the wilting violet some of your defenders had you down as. Now that the curtain has slipped tho, don't over-compensate by being over-aggressive in other threads y'hear? ;-)

Glad you and Moos were happy with the resolution to your discussion - I'm less glad that unsubstantiated claims about censorship, bullying and Stepford-esque attitudes remain flung and unaddressed (not just you btw)

Getting back to the original point - sorry to hear you're off, Ultraconsultancy, and wish you luck for the future.

Um - I believe you have copies of my books (delivered to you pre-Xmas) tho don't know if you sold any. Can you let me know how you want to go about returning them? Please PM me to let me know ...

It's not rational to assume all small businesses will succeed (they don't, by a vast majority).

This is a problem with so many aspirational small business owners/investors.

What is rational is to make judgements informed by various conditions affecting the operating environment.

The judgement may not support the aspiration (i.e. success) and if it does not, some serious decisions have to be made.

A judgement predicting a failure is not a negative judgement, though the failure itself can be regarded as negative (assuming the business was started for profit reasons).

Also the person making the judgement is not necessarily BEING negative.

I haven't read ????'s other stuff or all the comments on here but his basic point was fair.

Oooh I bought a couple - assuming Debi is not a really common first name amongst East Dulwich writers - one of each in fact.

DC - oh bless! Assuming we're talking about Nirvana Bites and Trading Tatiana ... Hope you enjoyed them and really pleased you had access to them via UC's stall.

And yes, I am Debi Alper. As you can see, I'm crap at self-promotion! (One of the reasons I don't include a link to my website and blog on this forum.)

Seen this really late as I haven't even looked at the main area of the forum for ages. Anyway, UC, Best of luck to you, if you ever open that guitar shop, let me know when you get that rare SG in for me! ;-)

RE: Quids (a really annoying name for ????), I agree with Asset, I don't think he's overly negative, I find his posts funny. I also don't think he was being nasty on this thread, he made it clear that his predictions are regrettable, but he was being realistic.

    • Unfortunately the cleaning company still has a Facebook page called 'East dulwich forum' which is what you are seeing here.  Facebook Group = a place where other people can participate. Facebook Page = a profile page for a business where only the business can post.   I will be disputing the name of the cleaning company's Facebook Page as well as its obviously designed to mislead people that its related to this website, but the main aim was to prevent them using 'East Dulwich Forum' as their group name, which has been somewhat achieved (even if they've just just appended '& Herne Hill' 😆)
    • Hi, my wife lost a single (left) apple earpod this morning running for the train. It was lost on Melbourne Grove, she believes it was near the Jarvis Road junction (where Gaby Leon clinic is on the corner). Would be hugely appreciative if anyone has found it! I went by 30mins later and couldn't see it anywhere.. Many thanks!
    • The fake East Dulwich group has thousands of members and has now added Herne Hill to their title. If you look up members, the admin team will come up and it’s run by I think Brazilian  admins such as Samual Oliveira, and they own East Dulwich Cleaners and East Dulwich Builders.  The real EDF recently set up by Joe on FB is new and members are lower and the bio states it’s connected to this group.    Likewise if you check out the admin on my East Dulwich Mums, you’ll see we are not the same people that run the other groups.  All the information is on the groups when you read the bio and check the admin list.  My East Dulwich Mums group is private and we have three admins so we all just pop on and off the group throughout the day to approve posts and it has been working successfully since we first started the group. We do give a lot of members pre approval who have proven to be trustworthy and genuine. We also vet members on sign up to try and weed out the spammers. Obviously now and again one will slip through the net but for the most part having the group private and with posts all requiring approval has meant it’s pretty much well run with minimal drama.
    • The "new"  Facebook EDF  doesn't have Herne Hill in its name. The one with Herne Hill in its name used to be the imposter Facebook EDF.
