For Sale: Gaggia MDF coffee grinder

Recommended Posts

Selling my Gaggia MDF coffee grinder. It's ideal for someone who wants to up their coffee game - grinding your own beans is the single biggest improvement you can make! I'm only selling this because I was gifted a very fancy one. I can't say that I would have bothered to upgrade it otherwise, it does everything you would want.

This is a great grinder which if you look online will tell you has an army of fans among the coffee conoscenti. That's because for the price you are getting something that isn't far off much more expensive machines. It's A LOT better than your bog standard Sage etc ones. Also unlike lots of grinders on the market, it can grind from fine (necessary for espresso) to course (cafetiere, cold brew).

It has been modified so that you can easily change the grind size bit by bit ('stepless mod'). This makes it straightforward to switch between different brewing methods (espresso, aeropress, cafetiere, moka pot).

I also replaced the lever spring a couple of months ago so that will not need replacing for a few years.

Available for collection in Nunhead.

    • Thanks jazzer, jazzer,  Jazzer 😀 I don't know either of those pubs, believe it or not, so I will google the Heaton Arms, thank you (and thanks for the tip about the easiest way!) ETA: Well, I googled it and apparently it was demolished in 2005 🤣 but I guess it was somewhere near Heaton Road. ETA again: It looks like I can get a 63 or 363 from the stop near the end of Barry Road, so assuming that's open that would be easier.
    • Niko hardly needs another recommendation but we use him regularly. He's good value, he turns up when he says - or tells you if he can't - and definitely knows what he is doing.
    • Ian the guy who used to own the garage left last year. The place is run by someone else now. Ian was our reliable mechanic for many years, a sad loss. We now use Turners on Barry Road.
    • Agreed that Niko is really good: he was helpful and explained everything in detail, and did a good job fixing the problem I had. He was also honest rather than trying to drum up a bigger (more expensive) job for himself by telling me everything needed replacing etc. He charged a very reasonable rate. Will definitely call him when I need a plumber again and would recommend!
