Long hedge trimmer OR tall stepladder

Hi,

I need to reach the top of a hedge, it's probably about 12ft. Does anyone either have some of those long hedge trimmers, or a stepladder that could help me (5'11) reach?

We have a stepladder of about 5ft and some telescopic loppers but they're not reaching.

  On another thread it says that the next meeting is in the evening. But I'm any case, there must be other ways to ask the question rather than direct to the police, eg via councillors, MP or mayor's office.
