Shaggy
Hi all. I'm probably going to have to commute to a client on Hammersmith Embankment. Does anyone else do this? If so, can you share your route with me?https://london.cyclestreets.net has calculated a likely-looking route for me, but real-life experience would be great. Thanks in advance. Sally Eva
I haven't but what I use for route-finding is cycle.net. I recommend it Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/307003-ed-to-hammersmith-by-bike/#findComment-1574815 Share on other sites
Hackblade
Did this route for years and there are limitless options but the quickest is up Dog kennel Hill and take the main road through Camberwell and on to Vauxhall Bridge, then along the Embankment and it doesn't particularly matter which right turn you take then up to Hammersmith. it will depend exactly where you need to go.There are some lovely variations - including the 'four parks' route that takes in Dulwich park, Brockwell park, Battersea Park and Brmopton cemetery. Adds about 10 mins but lovely.Whatever route you do it will be quicker than public transport. Waseley
There is a poorly signed bike route, Herne Hill to Clapham Common, then across the Common, head towards the river where you can find more quiet routes after Wandsworth, at Putney you can do the Thames Path, although a rough surface and during lockdown congested with joggers.More of a leisure route. Any ideas of the cycle route numbet- it's not one of TfL's and not easy to find on Google. Shame. Shaggy
That was the route id instinctively use. I've used the route to Clapham Common a few times, and from there its no distance to the river.
