goldilocks
I agree DKHbilly - i find the hoops that people are prepared to jump through to convince themselves that those saying what they want to hear amazing, but I guess that says more about them.CPR Dave - I'm hopeful the Lib Dems won't get elected - not from a political perspective as had someone like James Barber been standing I'd have been positive about him - but 'paper candidates' fielded to fill up the slots who can't be bothered to leaflet or canvass don't strike me as councillors that will be engaged and responsive. Mabaker
I'm in Dulwich Hill too. Not one leaflet, not one campaigner at the door. Being a traditional Labour voter, hate to say it, but very disappointed with Labour councillors on replying to concerns about local issues. I've voted Green this year hoping that at least one will get in. Wish we had more proportional representation. Waseley
Probably the most relevant point on this subject was DKH, in their excellent post - the choking of TfL by our current government. One is referring to the Dulwich Village LTN as ground zero for the issues caused by them - you do realise that the term ground zero was used for a very long time before it was applied to the World Trade Centre attacks don't you? You do realise it has multiple uses: one of which is in reference to the "starting point of an activity"?And the other is comparing the building of the Berlin wall to the building of the Village LTN. Yes it's a bit sensationalist but nothing more than that - you have to admit though that the parallels are striking.Perhaps people should spend less time trying to find things to be offended about and think about why people are still banging the "why haven't they listened to us" drum. Are some of you secretly hoping the Tories win so you really have something to moan and be offended about? ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/306686-did-you-vote-in-the-local-elections/page/8/#findComment-1578231 Share on other sites

Bic Basher
We call all agree that the Tories continual choking of TfL isn't helping anyone, including the delays to the remodelling of the Dulwich Common/LL junction which in part with the LTN is causing the additional traffic along the eastern end of LL. Roky Erickson
I'm in Dulwich Hill and want to vote against the LTNs, so obviously cannot vote Labour. Please can somebody help me, and confirm that the Lib Dems would remove the LTNs ? I'm confused at this point.I would rather vote Lib Dem than Conservative, but having been a lifelong Labour supporter, I could not countenance voting Labour in this election, so anything against them is preferable. Rockets
And if you don't vote expect a house visit from a load of Labour press-ganging councillors and activists around 6pm tomorrow.....;-) Sorry, couldn't resist!Always intriguing the night before an election - which way will it go? Will some of us be saying "there you go, Dulwich has finally had it's say on LTNs and has spoken" or will it be others saying "well, those 20 people on the forum who voted against Labour made zero impact".Time will tell..... legalalien
A random question that I wonder if anyone knows the answer to: if a ward changes hands, what happens to outstanding constituency work (emails, correspondence etc) - does it get handed over to the new councillors, or does everyone have to start again by emailing their new councillors?I have no idea of the answer, but you'd think it would make sense to have some sort of handover process? Ditto for MPs after a general election...(just wondering what might happen to an outstanding email to a current councillor) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/306686-did-you-vote-in-the-local-elections/page/8/#findComment-1578264 Share on other sites

Increased opposition from the Lib Dems will give them more power to oppose Labour's waste which hasn't been possible under the current administration.I hope also in Lewisham that we finally see opposition as Labour have all of the council seats there and there the apathy to their LTN schemes have been as terse as here, but they don't even have a single councillor who can defend residents who don't like how it's been managed since 2018. This is why it's important to vote for whoever you feel is the right person/party for the job in your ward rather than the status quo.
