Pandora
I do like a night out dancing every now and again - and I'd like some ideas for something new! I have no idea what genre of music I like, but I do like the music they play in Inside 72 (Inside 72 with a dance floor would be perfect really!), I'm a big fan of Radio 6 and I quite like soul/disco/motown sort of music. Also not adverse to a little bit of cheese now and again. I want a fun night out dancing and drinking and I'm quite happy to go to central London.Anyone got any suggestions? Thank you! Jah Lush
Try looking in Time Out magazine. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3065-recommendations-for-a-night-out-in-london/#findComment-95221 Share on other sites
bignumber5
getting bladdered in a cheesy environment always used to mean starting in The Roadhouse (Covent Garden) but times may have changed... SeanMacGabhann
I've ended evenings in the Roadhouse but never started one...Pandora - Jah's advice is probably as good a starting point as any - so so many variables ina town this size it's too easy to recommend something to someone only for them to like something elseI used to like going to the Intrepid Fox in Soho for my rock kicks but that has been closed down (moved to Centrepoint but not as good IMO)If the music in 72 is you scene then you are better off going to a gig than any bars in central London - again Time Out listings is a good place to start. If you fancy something off the cuff, then try the Borderline off Charing Cross Rd - they have a good selection of bands and American singer-songwriters of an Americana bent (Calexico, Lambchop etc) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3065-recommendations-for-a-night-out-in-london/#findComment-95305 Share on other sites
dulwichmum
OHMYGOD! Sean, what are your "Rock Kicks"? I am terrified for you. Have you sustained some dreadful sports injury, or perhaps you have been inhaling some new and fashionable drug?
