I'm trying to find a good doctor's surgery. I've tried both Melbourne Grove and the Gardens but they both have their problems, with maybe the Gardens being marginally better in certain areas. Does anyone know of a good, or even half good, practice that I could register with?

There are nowhere near enough threads on this forum about GPs. Please could you be sure to start a few more by the end of the weekend, just to ensure we have the subject covered?

My surgery (Nunhead Surgery) is excellent but don't know what the accepted catchment area is for it.

if you have a car then herne hill practice is great.. although i think maybe I'm only allowed to be registered there because I used to live closer. I really should move but am not overly confident of finding a good one local.

I hesitate to give it away cos a it's a well kept secret, but - if you can get in then Elm Lodge - the Burbage Road Surgery has been brilliant for the last 20 years.

They probably all have their strengths and weaknesses. What is your definition of a good practice and what are you looking for? If you are more specific about your requirements then you might get some useful suggestions.

Gardens - Terrible Stay away!

Dr Stephens at the Gardens is great, a lovely sympathetic doctor. Gardens as far as I am concerned, are fantastic.

I like the Gardens but had a recent hearing test at Chadwick road surgery and was very impressed by the whole set up there. Nice modern environment, pleasant reception staff, no waiting, very refreshing altogether/

East Dulwich Primary Care in Dulwich Hospital.

Hardly gets a mention but certainly the best around.
