Dulwich Tandoori - don't order online if you want the food (name corrected)

Hubbie ordered online (so address details/contact numbers not hindered by misunderstanding on the phone you'd think), and paid by card.

Confirmation email received saying delivery between 8-8.25pm, all good so far, but by 8.30 no food - hubbie famished & (only now) tells me he had probs with them online previously so gives them a call, food will be 5-10mins, ok we think.

By 8.45 still no food, I call and see red when I'm told that we've been called/food was delivered but turned away by a nice man & "you have a very nice front door" - am obv being lied to & don't like it - we've been in & make it v clear we haven't had anyone to the door. (I was doing toddler's bedtime otherwise I'd have driven to collect - hubbie thought he was doing me a favour!)

I head out giving up on the Indian as a lost course & still needing dinner, only to get s call from hubbie - the stone cold food has been delivered with no apology just an explanation that the first delivery driver didn't know where to go.

Am really disappointed at such a poor level of service, especially as the payment was taken in advance & won't be bothering to try them again :(

We've used Dulwich Tandoori for over 15 years and never had a problem, their deliveries can be little slow so we order earlier to make up for this, never unacceptably late though and quality of food more than makes up for it.

I am talking about Dulwich Tandoori though, next door to the Co-Op, Is 'East Dulwich Tandoori' a different restaurant?

Meant Dulwich Tandoori - fury + empty stomach x tiredness after travelling back to London = adding the East on.

If the food hadn't been so cold, it would have been fab. But, the lies they rolled out regarding the "attempted" delivery - "the nice man said it wasn't wanted" and "I know your house, you have a very nice front door" when I was trying to find out where on earth our delivery had got to, only to be told by the man finally delivering it that the first delivery guy hadn't known where he was going - despite full address correctly spelt given & there in the email confirming our order - means I'm not going to try them again.

If they can't keep to the timings they say their going to on an online order, then they should give a more realistic estimate & make sure their delivery guys can work a sat nav.

    • No, signs of sense and scrutiny of "leaders" not knowing the impact of what they have done, so much so that every citizen in the UK will suffer financially as a result of an incompetent, incoherent, unhinged Govt that's impact is effecting every citizen in the UK. Where things were being turned around by the last lot, this lot has already compromised all that work in its first 120 days in power. You may not like it but that's the truth.  We are never going to agree and actually Reeves, Rayner and Starmer need to go, like yesterday.

    • This is why you are not the chancellor! Rachel Reeves won't be going anywhere until either she fixes things or Starmer needs someone to blame!
    • I fully agree. I hope you had some khinkali (Georgian dumplings), they're fantastic! They used to have only meat ones but now they also have mushroom ones and they're great. I always try to fit in a honey cake at dessert. Overall I appreciate that their food and menu seems to only improve with time.
