The Clock House pub

?7? Really? By saying you were charged that, did you not look at the wine list? Just asking as you sound surprised. The Prosecco was ?5 from memory which is just about what we've paid elsewhere in ED. We have the 175mls glasses of wine and they definitely weren't ?7 but around the ?5 something (though they did have cheaper & more expensive ones) which again is comparable to anywhere else - and they had a much larger variety & choice.

Not saying it's good value, but these days everywhere seems to charge ?4 for bog stanard Heineken/Amstel. So I'd rather pay ?4.75 for something that tastes decent.

saw the outside of this coming together nicely over jan and feb, looked great from the outside ... but inside what a lost opportunity. looks like a lof of money and effort spent but slightly misguided interior design... what market was this aimed at (we are interior designers / architect) in particular as others have pointed out, the sky-lit rear area, which feels like a motorway services eating area. the front of the pub / bar area looked better, but there wasn't space to sit and enjoy that. food and drink = pricey, i'll give it another chance this summer, but with all the promise of the exterior restoration (lovely - + great logo!) it's going to be a while before anyone finds the time / money to rectify the mistakes inside. oh well. lost opportunity big time, for such a great location.

Just taken my Canadian visitor there and we were both shocked to the price of a local beer (Greenwich larger). Surely because it's a local ale it should be cheaper than other largers!

I prefer the old lay out (first time since refurb) seems very closterfobic in the back . Before we could sit where we wanted, tonight we were funnelled to the front! As a visitor, he thought the Forest hill tavern was much better than the Clock house (interesting).

Hello, we be had two meals there and both times thought the food was good and the service by the young waitress excellent. The second time was for Sunday lunch and we took our dog so sat in the front area, the waitress although rushed still found time to bring a water bowl over which was thoughtful.

A change for the worse in my opinion. I've been twice now and disappointed both times, not only with the food (half the menu not available at lunchtime!), but the prices and the rude staff.

Shame really as we loved it before and it has potential to do well with such a great location near the park.

    • No, signs of sense and scrutiny of "leaders" not knowing the impact of what they have done, so much so that every citizen in the UK will suffer financially as a result of an incompetent, incoherent, unhinged Govt that's impact is effecting every citizen in the UK. Where things were being turned around by the last lot, this lot has already compromised all that work in its first 120 days in power. You may not like it but that's the truth.  We are never going to agree and actually Reeves, Rayner and Starmer need to go, like yesterday.

    • This is why you are not the chancellor! Rachel Reeves won't be going anywhere until either she fixes things or Starmer needs someone to blame!
    • I fully agree. I hope you had some khinkali (Georgian dumplings), they're fantastic! They used to have only meat ones but now they also have mushroom ones and they're great. I always try to fit in a honey cake at dessert. Overall I appreciate that their food and menu seems to only improve with time.
