staniulyte
Hi All, Thank you for your help so far, I have now received an appeals form to fill in for The Norwood School, however the questions are very confusing to know what and where to enter the information I want to. If anyone has any experience in fighting an appeal for a high school place please could you help, happy to pay for your time. My daughter has got into The Sydenham School but I nor the school think she would benefit going to an all girls school and would fit in better to a mixed school for so many reasons. Please help. alethea
Did you put any other single sex schools on your, application? May seem like an obvious question, but would make a difference to your appeal. It is also worth noting that it is the school that makes the decision not the council.I did go through an appeal with my son and most of the concerns and arguments are based on safety, health and well being. You must explain why you feel single sex education will not work for your daughter with evidence if possible. But do not focus on just this element as you have to be clear why only your choice of schools offer what other co Ed schools can't. For example if your primary choice is not the closest, there is nothing to say that you couldn't approach another co Ed school closer with spaces. oimissus
As I suggested in your other thread, the headteacher of your daughter?s primary school should be able to help as they will have plenty of experience of this.I don?t think this is something you can just pay someone else to do. tomskip
Why do Sydenham School think your daughter would not benefit from going there? That sounds strange. To be honest, I'm surprised you actually found 6 co-ed schools in this area to apply to.
